Our Teachers

Emily Rust

Emily is a graduate of BYU-Idaho (BA Violin Performance, 2012). She has over fifteen years of teaching experience and is Suzuki certified through Suzuki Book 9. Emily performs professionally with the Canyon String Quartet and volunteers playing with the Orchestra at Temple Square. Her advanced students play in the best youth orchestras in the area. She loves teaching because she knows from her own life the connection and beauty that music brings! Emily has two boys that keep her busy when she isn’t teaching or performing.

Molly Cowley

Molly studied Violin Performance at Brigham Young University (BA Violin Performance, 2015). She has over twelve years of teaching experience and is Suzuki certified through Suzuki Book 4. She attended Brevard Music Festival where she was coached by Yo Yo Ma and William Preucil. Molly performs with the Canyon String Quartet and the Orchestra at Temple Square. Molly students frequently serve as concertmasters and section leaders in their youth orchestras and she’s had several win the Utah Valley Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition. Her favorite thing to do when teaching young children is using goofy stories to keep them engaged! When Molly is not teaching she loves spending time with her three young girls making messes in the art room of their home.
